Tentative plans set for the 818th's 55th Reunion |
|
The 55th Annual Reunion of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion will be held July 12th thru the 14th in Lincoln, Nebraska. Raymond and Lola Schildt will be hosting the reunion with the help of their daughters, Delta Kovar, Margaret Krieser, Lana Capek and Joan Pearson.
Although all the plans have not been finalized, the Comfort Suites in Lincoln, NE has been selected for the reunion. You can start making your reservations now. The hotel is located at 331 N Cotner Blvd, Lincoln, NE. (view map). The direct number for the hotel is 402-325-8800. This is the number you would use to call in reservations. Room rate is $77.00 for a one or two-bed suite. To receive this special rate, guests must identify themselves as part of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion Reunion when calling in their reservations. This block of rooms will only be held until June 12 at this special rate so make your reservations by that time. We have two handicap suites reserved, so if you need one of these, please indicate your desire for that. We have the hospitality room reserved at the hotel also and we will have time for visiting.
*More details about reunion activities can be found by clicking here and reading the letter I received from the hosts of the 2012 reunion.
Our hosts for the reunion have requested that you fill out and return the form that can be found here to help them in further planning of the 2012 reunion.

After extensive training at various locations, the 818th left for Belfast, North Ireland on 21 October, 1943. The 818th was composed of 600 men and officers and 36 M-10 Tank Destroyers. The 818th fought courageously and fiercely through France, Austria and Read More..
In September, 2001 this website was established to preserve the history, provide information and honor those who served in the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion. This web site is respectfully dedicated to the men of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion. We are continuously updating this site as new photos and information becomes available. We hope you find it both informative and enjoyable. |

JOHN A. MICIK - A Co.
"Was the Battle of the Bulge. We did not think we were going to make it through this difficult battle. Also, Utah Beach (France) was a quite vivid experience because it was filled with much anxiety and pain."
